Anja and Alex’s wedding at the Proper Hotel in Austin Texas felt like a masterclass in laid back elegance. From the start their energy was all about being present. By trusting their team and letting go of the pressure to script every moment they gave themselves permission to truly enjoy the day. It wasn’t about perfection. It was about the feeling.
Anja wanted the celebration to be about joy and connection not tradition for tradition’s sake. She surprised guests with a champagne toast during their intimate family only ceremony and chose to forgo a formal wedding party so everyone could experience the day as guests. That sense of freedom and spontaneity flowed through every part of the weekend creating the kind of magic that can’t be planned.
The decor was inspired by the bold yet refined aesthetic of Kelly Wearstler with their planner creating a look that felt as effortless as it was elevated. The interiors of the Proper Hotel set the tone graphic modern and unapologetically stylish echoing Anja’s own fashion-forward sensibility. Every space felt curated but not overdone allowing the day to unfold naturally against a backdrop that felt personal and chic.
Anja moved through the day with ease. Every moment felt unforced from the way she laughed with guests to the way she effortlessly danced barefoot on the patio. Nothing felt staged and yet everything looked striking. It was the kind of celebration where emotion and style met in perfect balance where every detail felt intentional but never precious.
