Culture, Colors, and Fashion: A Vibrant San Miguel Celebration

In their circle, Sheron and Kenny are known as the couple with effortless style. Sheron works in fashion at Amazon and brings an editorial eye to everything. Kenny makes a statement without trying. So when it came time to plan their wedding, they were never going to pick a generic venue or a generic anything.

They chose Hacienda Los Arcángeles in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Old world charm, vibrant energy, bold character. A perfect match for who they are.

Keila Bottiglieri of Abby Jiu Photography photographed the weekend. Planning and design by Lauryn Prattes Events.

The weekend

The rehearsal dinner was at Zumo Rooftop, where bold colors and playful patterns echoed the energy of the city itself. San Miguel de Allende has a specific feeling that is hard to describe and easy to feel, and the rooftop setting leaned directly into it.

The welcome party honored Sheron and Kenny's Ghanaian and Puerto Rican roots with thoughtfully chosen linens and a menu filled with flavors from both cultures. This was not a detail that got tacked on. It was central to the whole weekend and it showed.

The ceremony took place under a canopy of lush greenery. Cocktail hour spilled into golden hour with a mariachi band and a custom-wrapped bar that felt completely of the place. Dinner was by Coco Khoury Banquetes. The DJs were from their favorite local club. The night turned into exactly the kind of celebration that feels less like a formal event and more like an expression of who two people actually are.

On the fashion

What stood out most was not just what they wore but how they wore it. Sheron moved through the weekend with the confidence of someone who has thought carefully about every look and then let go of thinking about it entirely. Kenny's custom suits and accessories reflected his personality without announcing themselves. Together they looked exactly like themselves, which is the hardest thing to pull off and the most rewarding thing to photograph.

On the photography

Sheron and Kenny did not want stiff posing or overly curated moments. They wanted to move through their weekend and have it documented honestly. Keila's approach is exactly that. Show up prepared, know what matters to the couple, and then get out of the way until the moment calls for you.

The result is a collection of images full of movement, emotion, and the in-between moments that tell the real story. From the first look to the dance floor, every frame captures people who were fully in it. That energy is contagious and it lives in the photographs.

Some weddings are defined by a single moment. This one was defined by the accumulation of all of them. Two cultures, one city, a weekend that felt like it was designed to be felt rather than photographed.
