When Kat stepped into her Vera at the beginning of the day, it may have been cloudy outside, but she wasn’t letting going to let anything get her down. She was just happy to marry the man that she met back in 2006. And even though they met years ago, it wasn’t until 2010 at a mutual friend’s gathering that Robert got the courage to ask Kat out on a date. In fact, he was so excited about the date, Robert made reservations at multiple restaurants just so that he could give her plenty of options.
Kat and Robert dated for awhile and then took a trip to Napa Valley as a reward for Kat’s three month long work stint where she worked every single day at her residency at GWU. It was also where Robert wanted so much to surprise Kat that he even took her to a jewelry store in Napa to throw her off (meanwhile, the ring was waiting for her back at the hotel). Fast forward to August 2012 and it’s Kat and Robert’s Decatur House wedding. Where even a little rain didn’t dampen their mood.

Kat mentioned she knew that this was “the dress” because when she walked out of the fitting room she and had goose bumps. And despite the industrial clamps holding the dress together, it was a done deal.
Kat and Robert chose a Decatur House wedding because they wanted a location where they can show their guests the quintessential DC, and the proximity to the White House was perfect.

Kat and Robert, I had so much fun getting to know you along the way. I can’t believe we even have mutual friends back in Arkansas. So happy for you two!
