The wedding of Betsy and Jason was one I shot alongside the uber talented, Kate Headley. And took place at the beautiful, Sewall-Belmont House in downtown Washington DC. This venue is a gorgeous historical museum dedicated to showcasing the woman’s right to vote. It was a perfect location for the couple, because it represented Betsy and Jason’s belief for equal rights. Betsy is such a creative bride and did a great job of DIY’ing her way to a beautiful, creative and down home wedding.
Here’s Betsy as she gets ready for her wedding. I love the smile that radiates from her face.
Betsy and Jason chose to do the “first look” before the ceremony. I absolutely love when brides and grooms choose to see each other before the ceremony. It puts the couple at ease for the rest of the day, it is provides an intimate moment before the wedding begins.

This is Betsy with her family right before she walks down the aisle. I love the emotion on her father’s face. I think it perfectly captures this significant moment.
