A Modern, Flower-Filled Wedding With a Sprinkle of Rain | Melissa & Justen
Melissa and Justen started their next big chapter during their elegantly modern wedding on September 8, 2018, three years exactly after their first date. Despite the rain, their patient guests helped support the ceremony by braving the drizzle. Black and white umbrellas scattered the ceremony crowd, adding a unique touch of class outside the American Pharmacists Association Headquarters. As well, The Potomac View Terrace was aisled with hints of green and white to accent their wedding theme. Justen couldn’t help but tear up as Melissa walked down the aisle to meet him in her dazzling Sareh Nouri gown. In Melissa’s hands, she paired some white garden roses, phalaenopsis orchids, ferns, jasmine vine, mini green lotus, clematis, smilax, plumose, olive leaves in her bouquet (thanks to Floral & Bloom Design).

The couple wanted to ensure that their wedding was “black tie” but with a touch of “comfortable elegance”. It was important that their guests be able to be dressed well but ready to dance. Their reception, which was on the coveted Potomac View Terrace rooftop, was all a-glow under the vine-covered ceiling.
The modern touches included simple but elegant black chairs, personalized menus, and shimmering linens.
